PHAR 7124 Clinical Research: Drug Development and the Role of the Pharmacist

This course will help the students develop expertise with the clinical research drug development process and locating enrolling clinical trials. Students will gain the ability to discuss with patients, caregivers, and other healthcare providers the advantages and disadvantages of participation in clinical research and become and expert about trial availability for specific conditions that may be prevalent in their practice location and patient population. In addition, this course will evaluate ethical issues in the clinical drug develop process, including patient access to experimental therapies.
