PHAR 7163 Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience 3

The Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience (IPPE) PHAR 7163 course provides students with a very introductory understanding of institutional pharmacy practice. This includes but is not limited to workflow, basic medication order processing, institutional policies and patient safety.  Additionally, understanding the roles and responsibilities of each healthcare team member that serves in an institutional setting. As part of the course, there will be weekly integration assignments that brings real-life perspectives to the didactic material that the students are learning in the classroom. There will be three (3) required session activities that must be completed by the end of the rotation to advance the student’s knowledge of practice. Finally, the top 200 prescription medications, top 100 nonprescription medications and 100 medical terms will be assigned as a self-study and assessed throughout the course.
