Organic chemistry of macromolecules and nanomaterials, including structure, properties, and reactivity. A strong focus on the synthesis of nanomaterials from the atom up. Topics include the mechanism of polymerizations; chemical reactions of polymers and biopolymers; synthesis and stabilization of nanoparticles, assemblies involving nanoparticles, and chemical nanoreactors.
