CRIJ 3327 Advanced Court Systems & Practices

The United States court system is an extensive network comprised of many different criminal justice actors including, judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys, clerks, and other individuals. The purpose of this course is to examine salient issues relevant to the court structure like the appeals process, judicial decision making, plea deal arrangements, and the relationship between the prosecutor, defense attorney and judges. This course will serve as an advanced examination of the court system beyond what is provided in an intro-level courts class.
