CENG 4351 Traffic Engineering: Operations and Control

Introduction to traffic systems, flow characteristics, data collection, control of urban streets and freeways, operations of arterial streets, freeway, and networks, optimal signal timing design, capacity analysis using theoretical and experimental techniques, especially computer simulation. Introduction to current analysis and optimization tools for control device design/implementation. Two hours lecture and 3 hour lab.
