PHAR 7130 Diabetes Elective

The aim of this course is to focus on practical implications regarding understanding
and caring for patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus. The class will
reiterate basic pharmaceutics and pharmacotherapy knowledge from previous
Integrated Pharmacy courses and build upon that by requiring students to take a more
active role through simulations of the day to day requirements of a diabetic patient
and by providing more detailed information on counseling, recommendations,
medication regimens and follow-up.
